Replace one large guess with observable inputs

Before results day, nobody knows your final HSC marks. But you may know your course rank, cohort size and school. Those facts can be compared with historical school course outcomes to estimate several plausible HSC mark scenarios.

Why the result is still uncertain

Internal rank is only a proxy for final assessment rank. Public data does not reveal every student’s rank to mark pathway, the exact gaps between students or the strength of the current cohort. Your HSC exam performance can also shift the final result.

The useful output is a range

ATAR Forecast estimates course marks under five historical school years, then applies year matched historical scaling. The spread shows how the same current inputs behave under different historical scenarios. The central scenario is secondary because it can suggest more precision than the evidence supports.
